Beginning as a Mother’s day tradition over ten years ago, Kylita is at its core a reminder to relax and reground ourselves organically. Shout out to my moms undying support and demands to make this coffee scrub public for over 10 years.
Supporting the indigenous people of Guatemala is a priority for Kylita. Every batch of coffee is sourced from the Guaya’b Cooperative in Huehuetenango, Guatemala that consists of 300 K’iche Maya native farming families. The coffee grows under a dense forest canopy that has diversified over years of re- cultivating once logged land. The rich volcanic soil of Guatemala feeds every batch of organic fair trade coffee, hand picked by the most faithful stewards of the land.

Organic skincare guarantees potency by maintaining the highest concentration of vitamins and minerals. Without foreign substances that damage the integrity of each ingredient, the skin recognizes the natural molecular structure and can begin to absorb optimally.
Nature in its purest form is our greatest asset.
Coffee Scrub Benefits
-
Coffee when used as an exfoliant has many topical benefits. Caffeic acid, an antioxidant found in coffee, promotes circulation in the skin and helps aid collagen production. Because coffee is the only exfoliant in this scrub, there is a high concentration of caffeic acid which ensures a youthful glow almost instantaneously.
-
Coconut oil is antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and deeply hydrating. The high fatty acid content helps prep the skin for a deep exfoliating cleanse. Coconut oil is beneficial for the skin when used as a co-wash rather than a moisturizer. It is important to thoroughly cleanse the face after using the coffee scrub to remove any excess oil. The scrub acts as a great buffer to deeply clean without drying out.
-
Shea butter is a powerful anti-inflammatory because of its high Linoleic acid content. As an emollient that locks in moisture, shea butter adds a rich hydrating texture to the scrub that is packed with vitamins A and E. Its antimicrobial properties provide a clean yet deeply conditioning effect that leaves skin supple and smooth.
-
Jojoba oil is a natural humectant that draws water to the surface of the skin. This ultra hydrating oil is packed with vitamin E and can be used as a cleanser or a serum, which makes it an essential to any skincare formula. When paired with coconut oil in a coffee scrub it creates an ultra-hydrating nutrient dense formula.
-
Tea tree oil is one of the most potent natural antibacterial substances with proven benefits. Its antimicrobial and anti-fungal properties are commonly used to treat and prevent acne. When used in a coffee scrub it helps penetrate freshly exfoliated skin killing acne causing bacteria and ensuring a truly fresh start.
-
Lavender oil is antimicrobial and a familiar aromatherapy method for relaxation. The relaxing effects pair well with the coffee scrub’s natural awakening properties for a balanced focusing effect.
-
Orange oil is antibacterial and commonly used to treat anxiety and depression. The citrus helps compliment the flavor notes naturally found in Guatemalan coffee creating an aroma signature to Kylita.
